An enjoyable and effective way for individuals to learn about steps they personally can take to increase data security

The implication of data loss can be very serious for individuals. Criminals who obtain customer data can use it to commit identity theft or other fraud such as purchasing goods fraudulently using the bank or credit card details of another individual. Fraudulent acts such as these can have very serious consequences for individuals who have entrusted firms with their personal data, including significant inconvenience and financial loss.

What we did:

PlayGen developed a simulation to take the player on a journey where they experience how they can help prevent risks. The game builds an awareness of the most common risks to data security and highlights some of the steps firms and individuals should take to mitigate these risks.

The Data Security game provides an engaging and realistic simulation to communicate the key requirements of keeping data secure and the consequences for failing to do this properly. Any company who is serious about protecting customer data will want their employees to take part. Players will take on a number of different roles and will set about a number of challenges in the course of their investigation.

Characters within the game explain what they believe is good data security practice and the player will have to make decisions based on these comments. Moving across the game the learner gets the opportunity to challenge others, make decisions, and best of all have fun whilst learning!
