The task was to discover, explore, specify, define and design the gaming elements to be incorporated into the Proximitips application. A series of incremental features focused on delivering meaningful experiences with intrinsic rewards for the users would need to be developed. These would be framed in terms of delivering greater engagement, improved loyalty to the platform and ultimately increasing the conversion rate.

What we did
Proximitips is a social magazine app designed for SoLoMo experiences, pulling together the latest offers and deals in the user’s local area. It draws on the psychology of influence and engagement, focusing on delivering meaningful experiences with intrinsic rewards for the users.
This app utilises several gamification mechanisms to encourage greater user engagement, improved loyalty to the platform and increased conversion rate.
- A loyalty card system that rewards the user for visiting the app on a daily basis, (each day they visit they gain a bigger reward)
- A daily to do list – a simple but easy way to influence a users decisions within the app
- A treasure hunt – a playful way on discovering new deals through playing and exploring
- A reward methodology that gives users the opportunity to see deals they would rarely come across, or would not think of looking for.
