SoftSails First Playable

SoftSails First Playable

The RAGE project has us designing and developing applied games using the assets from the project.  One of the games is to simulate importance of soft skills, hence the development of SoftSails, for which this is the first playable v0.1. The game uses Emotional Agents, developed by Inesc, aimed at creating realistic virtual characters, which the game is heavily centred around.

The aim of the demo game is to assign each character the role they are best at, whilst maintaining their moods. Each character has two roles they like, one of which they are best at performing. The player’s actions solely involve assigning and removing roles, all of which are appraised by each character with realistic outcomes. For example, if a player assigns the all the roles a particular character likes to other characters, that character will be upset that the remaining roles are not ones that they enjoy.

Launch game in new window.
